Recreational Programs

Recreational Gymnastics is the noncompetitive branch of gymnastics and plays a leading role in the development of an active lifestyle.

Recreational Gymnastics is a sport for everyone - young and old. It allows each participant to explore various forms of movement in a fun and creative way.

Gymnastics is on the best activities for contributing to the overall development of a child as it provides the foundation for participation and success in all other athletic activities.

The goals of these gymnasts may vary, but the FUN, FITNESS and FUNDAMENTALS attained are never lost.

Parent & Tot
For children 1 to 3 years old.
Parent participates with the child while the coach’ guides the group through planned circuits and activities.
Class Length: 45 mintues

Tumblebugs
For children 3 to 4 years old.
Children get their first introduction to gymnastics without parental guidance. Participants are under the guidance of a coach, following planned circuits and activities.
Class Length: 45 mintues

Kindergym
For children 4 to 6 years old
This program allows the participant to further develop listening and social skills and facilitates the introduction to a more structured gymnastic program.
Class Length: 60 minutes

Advanced Kindergym
For children 5 to 6 years old
This program is a progression from the Kindergym program. Participants cover basic body awareness, movement patterns and skills. Coach recommendation needed for advancement
Class Length: 90 minutes

Tumbling


Beginner

Tumbling combines the dynamics of trampoline skills with the most exciting aspects of an Artistic Gymnastics floor exercise. Classes will be grouped according to age and ability; and this class is for the younger, less experienced tumbler. Our facility offers a spring rob tumbling track and full size acro spring floor.

 

Advanced

Classes will be grouped according to age and ability; and this class is for the older more experienced tumbler.  Our facility offers a spring rob tumbling track and full size acro spring floor.

Junior/Intermediate Girls
For girls aged 6 - 12 years old
Introduction to an advanced level of instruction on the various gymnastic apparatus leading to a better understanding of gymnastic skills and a higher level of physical fitness.
Class Length: 90 minutes

Advanced Girls
For girls aged 6 - 12 years old
A more structure program teaching higher level elements. Must have coach recommendation.
Class Length: 120 minutes

Junior/Intermediate Boys
For boys aged 6 - 12 years old
A gymnastics program designed to emphasize strength, flexibility and coordination involving male gymnastic skills.
Class Length: 90 minutes

Advanced Boys
For boys aged 6 - 12 years old
A structured program teaching more advanced skills on the men’s apparatus. Must have coaching recommendation.
Class Length: 120 minutes

Junior Coed

For girls and boys aged 6 - 9 years old
Introduction to an advanced level of instruction on the various gymnastic apparatus leading to a better understanding of gymnastic skills and a higher level of physical fitness.

Class Length: 90 minutes

Open Gym (drop-in)

For male and female participants ages 13 or older.  Athletes follow an unstructured program and advance within their individual goals and possibilities. You must be Hurons Gymnastic Club member to participate
Class Length: 90 minutes

Family Gym (drop-in)

Family Gym is designed for families to allow children accompanied by their parents to enjoy one hour of an unstructured  format.  Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Coaches will be on hand to assist and encourage you. Family fun for all! You must be a Hurons Gymnastic Club member to participate.

Class length: 1 hour

Adult Gym (drop-in)
Adult Gym is designed for adults 18 years or older to enjoy the gym in an unstructured format. Coaches will be on hand to guide and encourage you.

Class length:  1 hour
